staring at flickering lights, mutual smiles, making up imaginary conversations, daydreams, worn shoes, cigarette smoke, incense sticks, long car rides, bony elbows, sleeping on roofs, tripping together on the sidewalk

I’m just trying to remember what it was like being a young child spending my days watching Godzilla. I was in one of my aunts many new homes (she moved all the time) I believe it was her boyfriend’s place. It had brown carpet and floral curtains which made the place radiate an orange hue whenever the sun came through. My cousin and I would spend our days in that little place eating slime pops, digging a hole to china, drawing pictures with colored pastels, banging away on the drum set, but most importantly we spent our childhood days watching Godzilla.
